Month two brought lots of fun for Bristol Margaret (and the rest of us too!). At the time of the one month post, we were getting smiles out of her but now we're consistently getting smiles, coos, and the occasional giggle. I'll tell you what, it doesn't get any less fun just because we've done this five times. If anything, it's magnified because we're all the more aware of just how fast each stage will be over.
Consistent with all of our long skinny babies with giant heads, Bristol is not so great at lifting or controlling her head while she's on her tummy yet. She doesn't mind being in that position, but she just stays face down in the carpet. The doctor compared her to a limp noodle when he was trying to get her to put weight on her legs yesterday. I just laughed that he would even attempt such foolishness. And speaking of the doctor's appointment, that was exactly why I was waiting to post this. I wanted to be able to give a more accurate weight than the Wii Fit did last month. (That, and it hadn't escaped me that if I'd had the post done yesterday, it would have been on her "should have been" birthday anyway.) Baby Girl (Bill called her Honey Boo Boo the other night and I might have freaked out a little) is now weighing in at 12 pounds 1 ounce- right on the cusp of moving up to size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing.
Bristol continues to be a good sleeper at night, mostly in her car seat. Last Friday night, I nursed her around 8:30, put her in the car seat in the darkened living room shortly after 9 and was happy to nurse her again at 6:40 Saturday morning when she awakened. She still has nights where she gets up to nurse too, but it's not so bad. I figure I'll just enjoy the sleep when I get it and it's really not unreasonable to think that a two month old would still nurse in the night sometimes. Soon enough, she'll realize sleep trumps milk.
When you have a baby as cute as Bristol, it's hard to decide which pictures to include in a post....
Still rockin' the faux hawk.
And I leave you with this...
Seriously!! How cute is she?!
