Birthday Season Recap

I'm going to go ahead and say that the reason I've been such a terrible blogger for the past couple of months is because we have been in the throes of Birthday Season. Of course, if I use that as my excuse for September/October/November, I'll have to come up with something else for every other month of the year. Either way, it wasn't just Birthday Season that was keeping me from blogging, but the blog works a lot like my laundry piles. The more there is to do, the less motivated I am to start. I know, not exactly a character trait I'd like to instill in my children, but it's the truth.  And just like when my laundry piles turn into laundry mountains, I can't get all picky and OCD about the way it's done (read that: can't complain when husband folds shirts "backwards" or washes clothes in the same load as a bathroom rug). So, instead of each kid getting their own post, this is going to be a group post and I'm limiting the amount of story-telling with actual words. This can be kind of like a wordless picture book. Use the pictures and the suggested words as a starting point for making up your own stories to go along with them. If nothing else, if the kids are looking back at this post in twenty years, maybe the words will spark their memories. Here goes:

September 15th: Leah-girl
9 years old, party bus (mini-van is too small to transport friends and siblings) driven by Dad, pizza, ice cream cake, sleepover, waffles, grandparents, more cake, birthday money=finally enough money saved to buy iPod

September 29th: Baby G
3 years old, birthday cake at the fire station, requested Princess cake with the grandparents, awesome parents too cheap to buy Princess cake at the store and opt to purchase Little People princesses that can double as a gift for the "cake toppers"

October 8th: Brissy
This girl is gettin' her own entire post. Saddle up! It'll be a doozy.

October 31st: Fletchie-boy
5 years old, Trick-or-Treating on actual birthday, dinosaur fossil kit, older brother actually stuck with the fossil long enough to "unearth" it, requested rainbow cake for party with grandparents

November 26th: BoBo
8 years old, Skylanders Swap Force, BATTLESHIP, melted his mother's heart when his response to the question, "What kind of cake do you want?" was, "Does it have to be an actual birthday cake?", mother thought he was dreaming about a cookie cake or pie, instead was sweetly hoping for strawberry shortcake, no friend party scheduled as of November 29th (maybe will have to use money that could have paid for party to pay for future therapy sessions instead), boot to the face waiting for ride after school

Unfortunately, because of my failure to plan a friend party for Bo, I can't actually declare Birthday Season closed quite yet...
