Well, I posted about how I was pretty sure I had put babies to bed the night before school started. But apparently, it was actually these people!
When we walked to the playground to get everybody to their lines, Fletch held my hand until we hit the blacktop. At that point, he let go and just walked next to me instead. I'm not even sure it was intentional on his part, but I noticed. :) I feel like I did a good job of staying composed. I really never cried. A few tears may have leaked out, but I don't think Fletcher ever suspected a thing. And a few more tears may have sneaked out when I met my friend, Dena, for a little Boohoo Breakfast after we both dropped boys off at kindergarten.
Not only did Leah and Bo not hold my hands, Leah and Bo didn't even wave good-bye. As soon as we passed through the gate, they took off for their lines and their friends. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am so grateful that they have friends and teachers that they look forward to seeing that much. Leah reports that her teacher is the best one she's had so far and Bo says his teacher is really nice too.
I feel like I had so much to say and such eloquent ways to say it back on the first night of school. This should be my lesson to write as life is happening. This post feels very uninspired. I may have to revisit this one if more of my thoughts from that week come back to me.
