Counting Blessings

Here are a few things I have found myself grateful for over the past 8 days:

-a husband who has always been "hands on" enough with his children that it's not that big of a deal to just pick up and start taking care of four kids, ages 2-8, while all his wife has to do is snuggle one easy-going newborn at the hospital.

-a husband who does things like get on his hands and knees and wash the kitchen floor while I'm gone. Sorry ladies, he's taken (and so is his brother).

-parents who can jump out of bed at 4:30am and be to my house in ten minutes.

-a mother-in-law who will drive to town everyday for a week, just to help. And she's actually helpful too. She does things like fold laundry and bring Schwan's food for my freezer. Sorry ladies. Both of her sons are taken. :)

-Grandmas who are usually in bed by 9 or 10pm, but are willing to take an 8 year old girl to a concert on a Thursday night and stay out well past everyone's bedtime, just to make one little girl's birthday wish come true.

-friends who put in the time and effort to bring meals to my family.

-modern medicine.

-a body that has literally earned its stripes (aka stretch marks). It may not look so amazing after carrying and delivering five babies in eight years, but it carried and delivered five precious sons and daughters in 8 years! It is amazing.

To be continued....
