Nach'Yo Talent Night 2013

Last night was Trinity Baptist Church's annual talent night and nacho bar. We had never attended before, but I doubt we'll ever miss it again. The nearest thing I can compare it to would be the early episodes in a season of a show like, "America's Got Talent." There were some truly talented performances, but mostly, it was just fun to see people's silly little tricks that they can do.

There was some actual talent showcased in the form of children singing and playing instruments. It also included a couple of high school girls doing a skit they usually do at camp, one of Bo's schoolmates showing off a few gymnastics moves, the wife of one of the pastors playing a song she'd known how to play for about three hours on her grandfather's accordion, a man playing the ukelele he'd been learning to play for about a month, someone telling Ole and Lena jokes, and another man whistling the tune of, "It Is Well With My Soul."

My favorites, though, are highlighted in the pictures below.

Fletcher and his good buddy, Logan, joined the men of TBC in a bell choir performance.

The bells are color coded and a leader stands in front of the group to hold up cards that let people know when to ring their color bell.

Fletcher's other talent was eating dessert. That's about his 15th cookie in his hand there.

Grier's talent was not running. She tripped and hit the corner of a chair. Luckily, only a small portion was bleeding. The rest of it was just blood pooled under the skin.

Leah told jokes. Why do melons get married in church? Because they cantaloupe!

And the grand finale was a bell choir of all the kids. Bo absolutely stole the show on this one. I'm not sure if he didn't get the memo about watching the cards to see which color was supposed to be playing or if he just didn't care. The pose in this picture made me giggle.

This one just about made me lose the contents of my bladder. I'm still laughing as I picture that kid dancing his heart out while all the other children sweetly watched Miss Bobbie to see which color was playing next.
