We took the kids ice skating for the first time today at Tuthill. I wish I had some pictures to show for it, but as soon as we put skates on Leah, Bo, and Fletcher, it was quite obvious that my hands and arms would be too busy to hold the camera and steady children on skates. I didn't want to miss my chance to document it on the blog, though. They had so much fun! Fletcher was not so sure about it. He spent about 10 minutes on the skates before we went in to put his boots back on and let him run around on the ice like Grier was. Leah and Bo weren't expected to last much longer, with the way things started out, but they really picked up on it fast. They didn't mind slippin' and slidin' all over until they kind of got the hang of it. Leah had even worn her knee pads from volleyball. By the time we left, over an hour later (about 45 minutes longer than I thought we'd be there), they were begging to go back tomorrow. I'm not sure that will happen, since Bill will be at work and my brother is stopping to visit, but it definitely made us glad we'd finally taken them skating. At $1 per kid, I think we could handle going a little more often.
Oh. And where was Bristol during all of the excitement? She got to spend the hour and a half getting all of the attention at Grandma Lou Lou and Grandpa Ronnie's house. We've all been fighting colds and even though it was fairly warm today, the wind was wicked. We figured she'd be just as happy playing with all the toys that nobody ever seems to let her play with at Grandma's house.
