Good Night. Sleep Tight.

July 31, 2012 "Aaaaaaahhhhh! Not sure what's worse. Finding a crib with a naked baby in it or finding a crib with NO baby in it! Actually, I'm confident that the empty crib is going to cause a lot more headaches. Anybody have a crib tent they'd like to get rid of? I don't care about recalls."

August 1, 2012 "wasn't kidding last night. We are in serious need of a crib tent around here. Who has one for sale? I don't care what "experts" say about her ability to climb out of a crib being a sign that she is ready for a big girl bed. She cannot be allowed to roam the house freely. As of yesterday, she can get the lid off of milk cartons, for crying out loud! If there aren't any crib tents to be found, I might have to use Bo's idea of tying her into her crib with scarves. :)"

August 2, 2012 "She at least finally got smart enough last night to stop coming out of her room. This is where I found her when Bill and I were checking to make sure everyone was snuggled in tight before we headed for bed. I'm pretty sure Fletch was asleep before she climbed in or else he totally would have come to tell us she was bugging him." (see below)

The quotes above were a few of my facebook status updates from about a month ago. Since then, we've all formed a few new habits. First of all, after I tuck them in and say, "Good night," I pull their door shut as tight as I can. It sticks, which is actually better than having it latch, because it means that even Fletch has a hard time pulling it open. Later in the night, before Bill and I go to bed, we open the door so Fletch isn't trapped if he has to use the bathroom in the night and we can move Grier back to her crib, since her new habit is to climb out of her crib and snuggle in with Fletch. Someday, I'm sure they'll look back and really appreciate that I decided to keep a photographic journal of it all. Personally, I find it awfully sweet. :)

This is one of my favorites for two reasons. #1: I love how Grier has her hands under her cheek. #2: The way Fletch has his foot up over his opposite knee is pretty much an exact replica of Bill most nights. :)
