Hot

Ugh. Maybe I've never mentioned it on here before, but I really hate being hot. Hot and humid? The worst!

South Dakota is having a heat wave at the moment. The thing that makes me crabby at a time like this? Being outside, away from my air conditioner. The thing that makes my kids crabby at a time like this? Being inside, too close to each other. So, my friend, Katie, convinced me it might be a fun day to take the kids to the Perry Nature Area and let them play in the creek. The kids definitely enjoyed themselves at the creek and I definitely enjoyed myself when I got home to my air conditioner.

This is where they were taking "mud baths."

 

 If the boys could have their shirts off, these two didn't see any reason they couldn't too.

Celia is a good match for Grier in the feisty department. Katie, her mother, is a good match for me in the "they can work it out themselves," department. Their spats never last long and Grier loves to talk about her "hend."
