It has been a tradition for quite a few years for my mother-in-law, Rita, to purchase Advent Calendars for my children each December. She buys the kind with a little piece of chocolate for each day leading up to Christmas. It's looking like we might need a new tradition of hiding our calendars. I was folding laundry one day while the big kids were at school and the little girls were playing in their room, which is right next to mine. I could hear them in there and was thinking how sweet it was that they were together for so long without anyone squawking. You'd think that after three years of being Grier's mother, I would have had alarm bells going off in my head like crazy. When I went to the door to peek on them, I couldn't see them, so I thought maybe they were in their closet. But then I got in the room and I could smell the chocolate and see the rocking chair moving. Even Bristol had evidence of some snacking under that paci in the form of brown drool down her chin.
